Currently in the final year of a three year Software Engineering degree at the University of Durham. Aiming for a minimum of a 2.1.
Took on a number of key roles in a complex group software engineering project with students from Newcastle University:
- Project managed the requirements analysis task and co-authored the requirements document (awarded 76%).
- Worked within a small team to design the software system and authored the design document (awarded 71%)
- Responsible for developing Java (J2ME) code to interface and read data from a GPS device attached to a PDA and from the wifi card.
Progammed a variety of applications for university assignments in Java, including but not limited to:
- A socket based Remote Method Invocation book store application using Java (awarded 71%)
- A simple fair ground model utilising the Java3D API (awarded 70%).
- An implementation of a genetic algorithm for the Traveling Salesman Problem (awarded 75%).
Created a hypothetical database system for a school to facilitate the tracking of truancy and medical incidences using the following techniques:
- UML class diagrams to model the data and classes.
- MySQL to implement the database.
- Relational algebra and SQL queries to project the data.
