Hello everyone, I’m back from the Freshers’ blogging hibernation! I don’t have nearly as much time to blog at uni as I would have liked so I’m going to have to try and blog in batches and make good use of the future post option!

Anyway – here’s some of the interesting things that have caught my eye over the last few weeks.

How to Optimize for Ask. These are supplementory tips to the guide to How to Optimize for Yahoo!. Nice straight forward stuff you can put into action right now!

Interesting little post from Lyndoman about Social Bookmarking and SEO. If you have any spare time it could be a useful experiment.

Here’s all the stuff I thought was interesting enough to sphinn over the past week. A few of which hit the front page!

Content is Dead. Community is King Now – this seemed to create a bit of a discussion and most people were of the impression that it was titled incorrectly.

Rethink Web Analytics: Introducing Web Analytics 2.0 – this is just a great video from one of the masters of analytics. It’s quite lengthy but if you have time it’s well worth a viewing!

Well I actually wrote this post on Monday, and if all has gone well, by the magic of wordpress, it’s published itself while I’m lying in the sun.

As I said before, I’m off to Italy but these few posts caught my eye before I left.

There was a really great post by Avinash Kaushik about bounce rates. It’s one of the most thorough blog posts I’ve seen on the topic and well worth a read.

This isn’t actually a new post but I stumbled across it this week. A guide to avoiding common linking mistakes.

SEOMoz released a new tool for tracking and finding popular, buzzy search terms. Basically an aggregation of various other search trend tools. It’s free too.

That’s pretty much it for this week (well it is only Monday!).

On SEO Book was an article about fixing common blogging mistakes.

Andy Beard released a new plugin to add nofollow tags to duplicate content pages in wordpress.

There was a post over at copybrighter about how to make the front page of digg, which I believe made the front page of digg !

A post about how the new unavailable_after meta tag could be used for extortion.

And finally a post about how a 15 year old kid makes about $900 a month from her blog.

I’m going to Italy on Wednesday for a little bit so it may be quieter around here until I’m back!

On Aaron Wall’s blog I saw a post pointing to a blog post listing 160 odd ‘do-follow’ blogs. It’s perhaps ethically questionable, clearly some spammers and blackhats are going to abuse these kind of lists but I think it probably does have some legitimate uses.

Google have released their new meta tag “unavailable after”. There’s a post on Search Engine Land with a little more information about the tag.

A post about subvert and profit and generally gaming digg. It’s an interesting concept buying diggs…
